| Here we see the plate attached to the model's jaw. After the surgeons performed the mock operation on the model. | It all started with a stepping CAT scan of my head. From that
data an acrylic model was made by the company CyberForm. This model would be used by the
surgeons to get a real, hands-on idea of what they were dealing with. They then cut
out the jaw of the model and performed a mock surgery before laying a knife on me. It's pretty screwed up, huh? Compare it to the real skull above, nice and smooth. |
When the plate was finally attached to my jaw, it would not require any additional bending. Thanks to the good people at AONA, it was a perfect fit. And thanks to the surgeons! |
